A: Decision Makers' Seminar

Youth Engagement 101 is a seminar for decision-makers and supervisors who decide how & when their employees will expand active transportation solutions with child & youth engagement.

With examples from many projects, we'll make the case that engaging children & youths in active transportation is:

  • ethical - those whose environments are at stake should be consulted & involved in the decisions that affect them directly

  • effective - student leaders know the geography & the social structures of their community

  • pragmatic - support for programs & policies often depend on peopleʼs willingness to assist the process

  • energizing - empowered student leaders can engage their peers in creative & fun strategies to promote walking and cycling to school.
