G: Community Engagement in Workplace Travel Plans

Many of the tools and strategies from child- and youth-engagement projects are being adapted for Travel Behaviour Change professionals in workplaces.

What both Workplaces and Schools have in common is the key role of Peer-Leadership and Mentoring. In a recent conversation with a colleague working on Workplace Travel Plans, we were both amazed at how similar our projects flow in the planning, training and support of on-site co-ordinators who adapt program strategies to best suit their site and their peers.

Urbanthinkers' workshops follow on basic Workplace Travel Plan training to augment the creative and collaborative capacity of ...leaders. Many of the tools and events that have been seen amazing results in elementary and high schools offer an interesting starting point for adaptation in the workplace.
